The Coode Conservation Partnership brings together a team of experienced and qualified conservator-blacksmiths to meet the growing need for sympathetic ironwork restoration.

We are committed to the conservation, restoration and replication of heritage ironwork, and the creation of modern classic ironwork using traditional skills and techniques.

Specialists in ferrous conservation for the UK heritage industry, we offer sensible, sensitive and responsible conservation and restoration of important ironwork using both traditional blacksmith's skills and, where appropriate, modern techniques. Our extensive blacksmithing experience allied with a firm knowledge of conservation principles means that clients involved in heritage conservation can be assured that all our projects will be undertaken to the highest craft and conservation standards.

Conservation projects completed vary from a 43 foot long highly decorated screen at a private client’s country estate to the iron straps and hinges at a small heritage site, with no project too large or small for our dedicated team. We are often involved in a project from beginning to end, reflecting the fact that our specialist skills can be utilised at all stages of a project. By way of example, our skills and experience are regularly called on when writing tenders and specifications, we may liaise with other craftsmen (e.g. stonemasons) to provide input on set up for installation of ironwork and then finally carry out the installation of ironwork - often one of the last stages of the conservation or redevelopment of a site. Our dedication and commitment to traditional quality of workmanship and our informed knowledge of modern conservation practice is what drives us to deliver the highest standard of conservation, restoration and replication of heritage ironwork.

From our traditionally equipped blacksmith's workshop to our clean painting and conservation warehouse, your conservation or new build project is in the hands of traditionally skilled blacksmiths and conservation specialists.
